Myanmar President Visits NTPC NETRA to Explore Clean Energy and Technology Collaboration

High-level delegation tours NTPC’s advanced renewable energy, energy storage and green hydrogen facilities to strengthen bilateral cooperation in sustainable energy development.

Min Aung Hlaing, President of Myanmar, has recently visited NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance (NETRA), the R&D arm of NTPC, along with a high-level ministerial delegation from Myanmar.

The delegation was received by Gurdeep Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, NTPC, and Shaswattam, Regional Executive Director and Head of NTPC NETRA, along with other senior officials of NTPC.

During the visit, Hlaing and the accompanying delegation were briefed on NTPC’s growth journey, its past engagements in Myanmar and the company's initiatives in research, innovation and clean energy technologies supporting the global energy transition. The delegation also visited NETRA’s state-of-the-art in-house pilot facilities, including the 4 MW / 1 MWh Solar Microgrid, 3 MWh Vanadium Redox Flow Battery Energy Storage System, Green Hydrogen Hub and Agri/Municipal Solid Waste Gasification-to-Power Plant, showcasing NTPC’s advancements in sustainable and emerging energy solutions. His Excellency expressed keen interest in NTPC’s clean energy initiatives.

The visit provided an opportunity to showcase India’s advancements in renewable energy, energy storage, green hydrogen, and sustainable waste-to-energy technologies and paved the way for strengthening cooperation in the energy sector through capacity building, technology exchange, renewable energy deployment and the development of sustainable energy solutions.
