MAHAGENCO Seeks EoI for developing 10 MW floating Solar Project

The scale of work will include the design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the solar PV project on the water surface. The successful developer will also construct and erect total evacuation line from the switchyard of solar PV project to the adjacent substation

Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MAHAGENCO) has announced that it has invited an expression of interest for the development of a 10 MW grid-connected floating solar power plant at the in Nashik district at Upper Vaitarna’s reservoir. The time limit for the submission of EoI is 23rd January, 2019.

MAHAGENCO will go into a 25 year power purchase agreement with the developer and will present the area at the reservoir and the power sale agreement will be shortly signed by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).

The scale of work will include the design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the solar PV project on the water surface. The successful developer will also construct and erect total evacuation line from the switchyard of solar PV project to the adjacent substation.

In March 2018, MAHAGENCO had tendered 50 MW of solar PV projects to be built in the northern region of Maharashtra. In June 2018 as well MAHAGENCO had issued a tender for 750 MW of grid-connected solar PV projects to gratify to the electricity needs of the agricultural sector in diverse substations across the state.
