IB Solar Partners German Firms to Set Up Centre of Excellence at YEIDA

IB Solar has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with three German companies – centrotherm international AG, RENA Technologies GmbH and ISC Konstanz – to establish a Centre of Excellence at the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The agreement was signed at the Bharat RE Summit, organised by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).

The proposed Centre of Excellence will focus on research and development (R&D), technology development, innovation and skill development, with the objective of strengthening India's renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem.

According to IB Solar, the centre will provide a platform for collaborative research and technology development, with activities aimed at improving manufacturing processes, enhancing product efficiency and developing advanced solar technologies. The initiative is also intended to strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities through knowledge exchange and cooperation between Indian and German industry stakeholders.

The company acknowledged the support of the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI), Germany's Bundesverband Solarwirtschaft (BSW) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in facilitating the collaboration.

The partnership is expected to bring together Indian manufacturing capabilities and German technological expertise to strengthen cooperation between research and industry and support the development of India's solar manufacturing sector.
