Bahrain Reaffirms Energy Efficiency Drive, Expands Renewable Energy Cooperation with ACWA Power

Bahrain Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa reaffirmed efforts to improve energy efficiency, diversify energy sources and expand renewable projects while strengthening cooperation with Saudi Arabia and ACWA Power.

Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has reaffirmed the Kingdom’s efforts to improve energy sector efficiency, diversify energy sources and expand renewable energy projects to support economic growth.

Prince Salman made the remarks during a meeting with ACWA Power Chairman Mohammad Abdullah Abunayyan at Riffa Palace, where he discussed developments in the energy sector and cooperation between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

He said Bahrain is pursuing innovative solutions and expanding renewable energy projects as part of its efforts to enhance the efficiency of the energy sector and support the country’s broader economic development objectives.

The Crown Prince and Prime Minister also highlighted the continued support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for Bahrain Saudi relations, which he said continue to drive bilateral development and growth.

He stressed that the longstanding partnership between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia provides a strong foundation for strengthening cooperation, particularly in the energy sector. He also commended coordination between the two countries across various fields and highlighted Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud’s commitment to advancing the strategic partnership.

Prince Salman emphasised the importance of public private sector partnerships in supporting the successful delivery of development projects. He said such partnerships are essential for achieving development goals through innovation and the adoption of modern technologies.

He also welcomed continued cooperation between Bahrain and ACWA Power, recognising the company’s contribution to energy projects in the Kingdom.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Yasser Humaidan, Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain Naif bin Bandar Al Sudairi and other senior officials.
