ElectroRide aims to reach out to customers across India and create the highest dealer and customer beneficial chain of multi-brand outlets that provide end-to-end mobility solutions, said Rahul Goenka, Director, ElectroRide in a recent interview with Abha Rustagi, Associate Editor, Energetica India.

Que: Kindly elaborate on your strategy for expanding EV charging infrastructure, particularly in underserved regions.

Ans: Our strategy for expanding EV charging infrastructure involves prioritizing underserved regions to ensure widespread access. We plan to partner with local stakeholders and leverage smart technology to create a seamless and reliable charging network. By focusing on both urban and rural areas, we aim to make EV adoption easier and more convenient for all. We have recently partnered with Battery Smart, India's largest battery swapping network to provide battery swapping stations in 2,500 locations across India. The partnership is aimed at making electric mobility adoption simple, economical, and efficient, by creating more EV swapping infrastructure, tying into Battery Smart’s goal of giving EV users access to swap stations within a 1 km radius with zero wait time. By focusing on both urban and rural areas, we aim to make EV adoption easier and more convenient for all.

Que: With more than 10,000 vehicles scheduled to be delivered in the next two years, what business challenges do you see and how are you prepared to tackle them?

Ans: With over 10,000 vehicles set for delivery in the next two years, we anticipate challenges such as scaling operations and maintaining supply chain efficiency. To address these, we are optimizing logistics, and strengthening supplier relationships. Our proactive approach and agile strategies are designed to ensure smooth delivery and customer satisfaction. Electroride intends to work extensively to address retail finance for customers by working with financiers and is also starting its own NBFC to help increase the reach in rural market where finance for customers is not easily available.

Que: What are your plans for growing ElectroRide’s EV retail chain, and how do you intend to differentiate your brand in a competitive market?

Ans: We plan to grow ElectroRide’s EV retail chain by expanding our network of showrooms and service centres in different parts of the cities across India. We plan to offer a personalized customer experience by offering a diverse range of ElectricTwo Wheelers, Three Wheelers, and cutting-edge eco-mobility solutions. To differentiate our brand, we will focus on superior product quality, innovative features, and exceptional after-sales service. Our goal is to establish a strong market presence through a unique value proposition and customer-centric approach.

Que: How have your recent alliances with Quick Commerce and E Commerce companies influenced your business model and growth trajectory?

Ans: Our recent alliances with several major brands have significantly influenced our business model by expanding our network and enhancing operational efficiencies. These partnerships have opened new avenues for collaboration, improved our service offerings, and accelerated our growth trajectory. They reinforce our commitment to integrating EV solutions across various sectors and scaling our impact. All these alliances are leading to better customer experience which will accelerate EV adaptation. With Battery swapping, consumer concern on initial acquisition cost and range anxiety are addressed.

Que: How do you plan to address regulatory challenges, supply chain constraints, and consumer adoption hurdles in the EV sector?

Ans: To address regulatory challenges, supply chain constraints, and consumer adoption hurdles, we are actively engaging with policymakers to shape favourable regulations and ensure compliance. We are also diversifying our supply chain and building strong relationships with suppliers to mitigate disruptions. Additionally, we are investing in consumer education and incentives to drive adoption and build trust in our EV solutions.

We are highlighting to the customers a savings calculator, available on our site to educate the customers on the phenomenal savings by adopting electric vehicles. Every customer is explained about the benefits of using electric vehicles like zero emission, efficiency, low maintenance cost, easy to drive, noiseless and tax and financial benefits.

Que: What is your vision for ElectroRide and how do you see the company shaping the future of e-mobility in India?

Ans: Our vision is to become the largest chain of multi-brand Electric vehicles, that cater to all passenger needs. With a focus on making sustainable transportation accessible to all, ElectroRide aims to reach out to customers across India and create the highest dealer and customer beneficial chain of multi-brand outlets that provide end-to-end mobility solutions.

We see the company shaping the future by driving innovation, creating a robust ecosystem of electric vehicles, and setting new benchmarks in performance and efficiency for 2 and 3 wheelers. Our aim is to lead the change towards a greener future, where electric mobility is the norm, not the exception.

Que: Are there any new product segments or markets that ElectroRide is considering entering in the near future?

Ans: ElectroRide is exploring new product segments and markets to stay ahead in the e-mobility landscape. We are evaluating opportunities in electric two-wheelers and commercial vehicles, as well as expanding into international markets. Our aim is to diversify our offerings and capture new growth areas while maintaining our commitment to innovation and sustainability.

We are looking at various models like rent to own and customer leasing which would help accelerate growth. We are also entering into the EV financing business which would further help our dealers increase their retails and would be pivotal in EV adoption in the country.
