SAERA Sets New Standards with Double Chassis in E-Rickshaws
November 06, 2024. By Aishwarya

Que: Can you discuss the latest technological advancements SAERA has integrated into its electric vehicles and what are the key innovations that differentiate SAERA’s Mayuri e-rickshaws from other e-rickshaws in the market?
Ans: SAERA was the first to launch the Mayuri e-rickshaw, giving us a significant early advantage in the market and a deep understanding of consumer needs and preferences. We have integrated several technological advancements into our electric vehicles, especially in the Mayuri e-rickshaw lineup, setting them apart from others in the market. We consistently try to implement industry-first solutions to enhance the performance, durability, and safety of its electric vehicles. This includes the development of a double chassis system for added strength and stability, ensuring the vehicles can handle heavy loads and rough terrains with ease.
Our innovative features set us apart, starting with the double chassis system, which enhances the vehicle’s durability and load capacity for safer, longer-lasting performance. We also use high-quality automobile-grade branded paint, typically reserved for four-wheelers, ensuring superior aesthetics, corrosion resistance, and longevity. All key components are produced in-house, allowing for better quality control and customization to meet the highest standards. Additionally, our in-house testing facilities rigorously assess braking, vibration, load capacity, speed, and gradient performance, ensuring every vehicle is thoroughly vetted for safety and efficiency.
These innovations and differentiators make the Mayuri e-rickshaw a benchmark in the industry, delivering superior quality, durability, and reliability compared to other e-rickshaws in the market.
Que: How does SAERA manage the thermal management systems in its electric vehicles, especially in hot climates like India?
Ans: At SAERA, we use advanced thermal management systems in our vehicles, particularly suited for hot climates like India. In addition to ongoing thermal insulation enhancements, SAERA’s electric vehicles, such as the Mayuri, are equipped with sensors strategically placed within the motors and controllers. These sensors continuously monitor and regulate heat levels, ensuring optimal performance. In extreme temperature conditions, the system can detect potential overheating and issue early warnings to users or diagnostic tools, allowing for preventive action and reducing the risk of any thermal-related issues.
Que: How do you approach prototyping and testing new electric vehicle models at SAERA and what role does R&D play in improving the operational efficiency of SAERA’s electric vehicles?
Ans: R&D plays a pivotal role in improving operational efficiency, ensuring that every new model we develop meets global benchmarks for safety, durability, and performance. At SAERA, the prototyping and testing of new electric vehicle models are deeply integrated with our robust R&D efforts. Our in-house R&D teams focus on every key component and technological aspect, including chassis design, aerodynamics, frame construction, materials, load handling, comfort, durability, and more. This holistic approach ensures that all elements of the vehicle are optimized for performance and efficiency.
We also have in-house testing facilities at all our plants to maintain high-quality standards. These facilities allow us to conduct comprehensive tests, such as brake performance, vibration resistance, load capacity, speed regulation, and gradient testing. For additional tests beyond our internal capabilities, we work with government-certified agencies to ensure compliance with national safety and performance standards.
Que: How does SAERA handle the procurement and integration of critical components like batteries and electric motors in its production process?
Ans: SAERA ensures the procurement and integration of critical components like batteries and electric motors by adhering to stringent quality and safety standards. For batteries, we partner exclusively with leading manufacturers who undergo rigorous compatibility and stress testing. Only after successfully passing these tests they are approved as the official brand partners. Additionally, the vehicle, combined with the chosen battery brand, is subjected to agency testing to meet the highest safety standards.
Electric vehicles are developed in-house by our sister concern brand, designed to meet global safety and performance benchmarks, ensuring top-tier quality and optimal performance in all our vehicles.
