Our battery analytics system also monitors all batteries in real-time, allowing us to detect and isolate any potential issues before they become a problem, says Muthu Subramanian, MD & General Manager, Yuma Energy in his latest interaction with Aishwarya Saxena, Energetica India at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

Que: Can you tell us what Yuma Energy is showcasing at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025?

Ans: We are launching two new products. The first is our advanced next-generation battery pack, designed for mid-speed two-wheelers and three-wheelers. It is also interoperable with multiple OEM products. The second product is our automated do-it-yourself swapping stations. These stations allow users to swap their batteries independently, making the process quick and efficient.

Que: How do you differentiate your company and solutions in the highly competitive Indian market?

Ans: We focus on three key aspects: service, safety, and technology. In terms of service, we ensure 99% battery availability, so users never have to wait for a swap. We understand that uptime is crucial, and we make sure a swap can be done in under a minute.

Safety is a top priority for us. We have a 360-degree safety audit platform where our technicians inspect and maintain our assets regularly. Our battery analytics system also monitors all batteries in real-time, allowing us to detect and isolate any potential issues before they become a problem.

On the technology side, we use advanced innovations in our battery packs and swapping stations. We also have a data science platform that helps us forecast demand and keep track of our assets in real time. These efforts help us provide the best service in the market.

Que: How does your battery analytics system work, and how does it help consumers and operators?

Ans: Our battery analytics system collects real-time data from batteries, whether they are in charging units or vehicles. This data is then processed by our platform, which alerts our technical team if there is anything that needs to be addressed. This ensures that any potential issues can be resolved before they cause problems.

Que: Battery fires have been a concern in India. How is Yuma ensuring safety in battery swapping?

Ans: Battery swapping itself is not risky if the products are designed properly with the right safety measures in place. Our next-generation battery pack has three layers of safety to ensure maximum protection. We have taken every precaution to make sure our users have a safe and reliable experience.

Que: Sustainability is a key focus across industries. How is Yuma incorporating sustainability into its operations?

Ans: Sustainability is at the core of what we do. By promoting electrification, we are already contributing to a greener future. As we move forward with our internal battery manufacturing, we will also be implementing more sustainability initiatives in our production processes.

Que: What are your expectations from this expo, and how has the visitor response been so far?

Ans: There has been a lot of excitement around the Bharat Mobility Expo. The response from visitors has been tremendous. Even within the first few hours, we have seen a great deal of interest from potential customers. We are looking forward to engaging with more people throughout the event.

Que: Are you planning to collaborate with OEMs, and how will this impact your expansion in India?

Ans: We are actively working with multiple OEMs. A recent example is our partnership with Kinetic Green, which will also allow us to extend our network to their customers. We have more such collaborations in the pipeline, which will help us expand our footprint across India.

Que: Can we expect any expansion plans or new product launches this year?

Ans: Our network has already doubled in the last year, and we are looking to do the same in the next 12 months. There are a lot of exciting developments coming up, and we are looking forward to sharing them with everyone soon.
