Recognizing a substantial market opportunity, the company is now launching Eblu Rozee ECO at a competitive price of INR 2.95 lakhs, states Hyder Khan, Director and CEO of Godawari Electric Motors in his latest chat with Aishwarya Saxena, Energetica India on the premises of Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

Que: What is Godawari Electric Motors showcasing at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025?

Ans: We are set to make a significant impact at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. The company, which was launched at the 2023 Auto Expo in Noida, has spent the past year and a half identifying key segments where it can make a difference.

Initially launching with a family scooter, the company is now introducing a more premium, youth-driven scooter equipped with advanced technology, featuring a 4.2-kilowatt battery and a three-kilowatt motor, delivering a peak speed of 80 kilometers per hour and offering a mileage of over 125 kilometers. Additionally, a lower-tier scooter is being introduced, specifically designed for e-commerce companies and young riders aged 14-15 who do not require a license. This low-speed scooter comes with a five-year battery warranty and a three-year vehicle warranty, ensuring reliability and efficiency.

In the three-wheeler segment, we had previously introduced the L5 model, Rozee. Recognizing a substantial market opportunity, the company is now launching Rozee ECO at a competitive price of INR 2.95 lakhs. This model features a 7.5-kilowatt battery and a 5.5-kilowatt motor, maintaining all the qualities of the original Rozee while slightly reducing the battery size and replacing the hard top with a soft top. These three models were unveiled at the 2025 Auto Expo.

Que: What strategies is Godawari Electric Motors employing to differentiate itself from its competitors?

Ans: Differentiation in the competitive EV market is crucial, and we are focusing on two key areas. First, the company is committed to offering the best customer care and service in the EV space. Second, it aims to provide products for every segment within the two- and three-wheeler markets, catering to premium, family, and low-speed segments with a complete range of offerings.

Que: Can you discuss any ongoing R&D efforts aimed at introducing new technologies or improving existing ones in your product lineup?

Ans: Continuous investment in research and development plays a vital role in the company's strategy. The focus remains on enhancing performance, reliability, and safety. Notable improvements include a more stable handlebar for the ECO model and significant advancements in regenerative braking efficiency. The introduction of new technology is also a priority, with the DX model featuring a seven-inch fully loaded TFT display and a seamlessly integrated motor and controller system that ensures more than 95% efficiency. Such developments reflect the company's dedication to innovation and performance enhancement.

Que: With the introduction of the PM E-Drive scheme, what do you perceive as the biggest challenges in the Indian EV market, and how is Godawari Electric Motors preparing to address them?

Ans: The introduction of the PM E-Drive scheme presents both opportunities and challenges for the Indian EV market. One of the biggest hurdles remains the lingering preference for internal combustion (IC) vehicles. Consumers have yet to fully grasp the savings they can achieve with EVs. For instance, a middle-class family using a conventional scooter for daily commutes could save approximately three and a half to four thousand rupees per month by switching to an electric vehicle. Communicating these benefits to the public remains a challenge, but the company is confident that awareness will grow over time.

Another concern is range anxiety, which will persist until a more extensive charging infrastructure is established. To address this, we have equipped both the DX and ECO models with higher-rated chargers, significantly reducing charging durations. For example, Rozee ECO's charging time has been cut from seven hours to just three and a half hours, while the DX model's charging time has been reduced from five hours to two and a half hours. These improvements demonstrate the company's proactive approach in tackling common EV adoption concerns.

Que: Are there any upcoming product launches or expansion plans we can expect?

Ans: Looking ahead, three major product launches are scheduled for the first quarter of the year. Additionally, plans are underway for the introduction of an affordable family motorcycle in the last quarter. This new offering aims to provide a value-for-money alternative in the growing electric motorcycle segment, further expanding the company's diverse product portfolio. Godawari Electric Motors remains committed to innovation, customer satisfaction, and sustainable mobility solutions.
