Our Focus is to Establish 1.2 GW Solar Panel Manufacturing Capacity in Rajasthan by Q1 2025

Que: Sunkind has recently acquired five solar roof projects. Can you elaborate on the importance of these projects?

Ans: We are thrilled to announce the successful acquisition of five substantial solar rooftop projects, marking a pivotal milestone in our mission to drive India's renewable energy growth. Beyond the sheer capacity they represent, these projects are significant because of the esteemed clients they serve.

These projects exemplify our capability to deliver premium solar solutions to a diverse range of industries, underscoring our commitment to excellence and our strong reputation in the renewable energy market. Our valued clients include Cedaar Textiles Private Limited, ABREL Solar Power Limited (subsidiaries of the Aditya Birla Group), Jindal Stainless Limited, Jindal Steel and Power Limited, and SBF Rapid (TMT).

These collaborations not only highlight our leadership in solar engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, particularly in North India, but also reflect our dedication to delivering high-quality assets. With a combined capacity of 10 MW, these projects are strategically located across key states such as Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. Importantly, discussions with these clients are ongoing for several other projects, with potential capacities exceeding 30 MW within this year alone.

Furthermore, our commitment to innovation and efficiency is evident through ongoing initiatives, including the development of proprietary solar tracker systems and the forthcoming launch of a solar panel manufacturing line in 2025. These efforts reinforce Sunkind's dedication to advancing technology and optimizing costs in the solar energy sector.

Ans: We differentiate ourselves in the solar EPC market through several unique factors. Our organizational strategy revolves around customer orientation, ensuring responsive service and strong client relationships that efficiently meet specific requirements. Quality is paramount in our solar installation projects—we maintain high standards in materials and services from project inception to completion, ensuring both efficiency and durability.

Our integrated approach allows us to manage projects comprehensively, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards. We emphasize design and procurement excellence to tailor solutions that precisely match client specifications. Regulatory compliance and safety are integral to our operations, underscoring our commitment to industry standards.

Vertical integration and local manufacturing are central to our strategy, aligning with 'Make In India' initiatives to enhance quality and reduce costs. We also prioritize project management visibility and flawless execution, supported by a business model grounded in innovation and technology leadership. Our in-house production capabilities cover up to 20% of project requirements, optimizing efficiency levels.

Through strategic alliances, we continually enhance our knowledge base and expand our capabilities, while maintaining sustainability through green policies and compliance. Our upcoming fully automatic Solar PV Modules production line will further strengthen our position by enabling us to provide up to 75% of project components in-house, significantly enhancing our competitiveness in the market.


Que: Sunkind is committed to the Make in India initiative. How does this commitment affect your operational strategy and market position?

Ans: Currently, we have commitment towards local solar panel production, hence our focus is to establish 1.2 GW solar panel manufacturing capacity in Rajasthan by Q1 2025. Moreover, the company has an in-house manufacturing division known as STRUCMAX, which strengthens the local supply of quality components, thus increasing quality assurance and actually minimizing the use of imported products. This would have a positive impact for several reasons: It not only ensures sustainability and supports ALMM compliance by using locally sourced panels but also complies with national standards. It does not only contribute to the local economy but also creates new employment and training opportunities helping the community to grow and become stable.

Favoring local suppliers helps in making our domestic industry ecosystem a strong one, ensuring a reliable supply chain from India. These efforts represent our dedication to home-based production of solar products and other renewable energy solutions in making Sunkind a market leader in the Solar EPC market. In total, the Make in India emphasis on our business improves our operations, strengthens economic development, and boosts our positioning as a market leader in solar products.


Que: With solar panel manufacturing in Rajasthan scheduled to start in 2025, what growth do you expect for solar panel technology?

Ans: With our solar panel manufacturing in Rajasthan slated to commence operations in 2025, we anticipate substantial advancements in solar panel technology and robust growth within the sector. This strategic move underscores our commitment to enhancing the efficiency and affordability of solar energy solutions.

Our focus will be on integrating Zero Bus Bar variants using TOPCon technology, tailored specifically for the Indian market. The implementation of fully automatic machinery ensures defect-free solar panels, reinforcing our competitive edge in the market.

Rajasthan, known as the Solar Powerhouse of India, presents a significant market opportunity for us. Sunkind aims not only to meet its internal demand for solar panels but also to supply other developers in India.

We anticipate significant improvements in solar panel efficiency, durability, and cost-effectiveness through our dedicated R&D efforts. By leveraging innovation, we aim to deliver cutting-edge solutions for solar rooftop installations, benefiting major players across industries.

A standout initiative is our ambitious plan to launch a new solar panel production line in Rajasthan by 2025. This facility, designed with a production capacity of 1.2 GW to be installed in two phases, will significantly enhance our vertical integration capabilities. This move strengthens our control over quality and product portfolio, aligning perfectly with the 'Make in India' initiative.

Simultaneously, we are actively registering Solar Parks across multiple states in India and executing large-scale installations of solar rooftop systems for prestigious clients. These projects collectively boast a capacity of approximately 300 MW and span diverse states such as Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.

These strategic alliances and innovative endeavors not only reinforce our leadership in the solar EPC sector but also contribute significantly to India's Renewable Energy mission.
