Que: What measures is Euler Motors taking to address fragmented supply chains in the EV industry and how does Euler Motors ensure nearly 95% localization of EV components?
Ans: We have tackled the supply chain challenges through our partnerships with over 300 local suppliers, ensuring a reliable and consistent supply of components. We involve our partners early in the R&D process, co-developing parts that meet Indian requirements while adhering to high-quality standards.
We’ve reduced import dependency by focusing on in-house development for key components like battery thermal management and chassis design, optimizing our supply chain and boosting efficiency.
Our localization strategy is built on close supplier engagement and in-house innovation. For components unavailable in the market, we’ve developed advanced capabilities, particularly in electronics, to ensure seamless integration and scalability across our platforms. This approach has enabled Euler Motors to localize 95% of the vehicle components and 90% of the battery packs (excluding cells), reinforcing our commitment to building a strong local EV ecosystem.
Que: How does Euler Motors leverage data analytics to optimize its supply chain?
Ans: Data analytics is at the heart of our supply chain, helping us stay agile and efficient. By analysing seasonal trends, historical sales, and market dynamics, we can accurately forecast demand. This means we produce what’s needed, when it’s needed—avoiding overproduction, preventing stockouts, and using resources wisely.
It also plays a big role in managing inventory and suppliers. Real-time insights keep track of stock levels and trigger timely restocking, ensuring we always have the right parts and components on hand. On top of that, predictive maintenance uses vehicle performance data to catch potential issues early, reducing downtime and keeping operations smooth.
What’s exciting is how these insights improve our products. Patterns in usage and maintenance feed into R&D, helping us refine parts and processes. This results in more durable, reliable vehicles that meet real-world demands.
With data analytics and AI driving our supply chain, we’ve built a system that’s not just efficient but also ready to scale with the growing EV ecosystem.
Que: What innovative techniques does Euler Motors employ to enhance production efficiency?
Ans: Euler Motors employs advanced techniques to enhance production efficiency at every stage. Our proprietary Manufacturing Execution System (MES) seamlessly tracks the vehicle lifecycle, from production to delivery, ensuring smooth coordination and strict quality control. Automated assembly lines equipped with technologies like EMS Hanger systems and vacuum-based brake oil filling machines boost precision and streamline operations.
Our R&D center drives continuous innovation, enabling 100% in-house development of critical components such as battery packs, motors, and Vehicle Control Units (VCUs). This not only fosters technological advancement but also ensures superior quality and operational efficiency. Additionally, our automated chassis production line minimizes manual intervention, optimizing the process and increasing output. These innovations collectively uphold our high production standards while maximizing efficiency.
Que: Can you discuss the recyclability of components used in Euler Motors' EVs and what initiatives is Euler Motors taking to address the growing climate change issues?
Ans: At Euler Motors, sustainability is more than a goal—it’s our responsibility. There are various initiatives that range from battery waste management to wastewater treatment at manufacturing facility.
For instance, instead of letting used automotive batteries go to waste, we give them a second life. Once they’ve served their purpose in vehicles, we repurpose them for non-automotive uses, like powering cell towers. This not only cuts down waste but also maximizes the battery’s potential.
Our manufacturing plant is equipped with systems like a sewage treatment plant and groundwater recharge, ensuring we minimize our environmental impact. We also meet high ESG standards and are ISO 14001 certified for environmental management.
Que: What quality control measures are in place for components sourced from suppliers?
Ans: At Euler Motors, quality control is our top priority. We carefully select suppliers who meet our high standards and work closely with them from the start, ensuring alignment on technical requirements. Throughout production, we conduct thorough testing and inspections of critical components like batteries and electronics to guarantee safety and performance.
Our relationship with suppliers is built on continuous collaboration, sharing feedback and working together on improvements. This ensures not only top-quality components but also long-term reliability and performance in our EVs.
Que: How does Euler Motors address the cost competitiveness of EVs compared to ICE vehicles and what advice would you offer to other manufacturers looking to localize their EV production in India?
Ans: At Euler Motors, we focus on in-house development and localization to enhance cost competitiveness. By developing critical components like electronics and battery systems internally, we reduce reliance on imports.
For domestic EV manufacturing, building a strong, collaborative ecosystem is key. Working closely with component manufacturers, identifying parts to localize, and ensuring consistent quality standards are crucial steps. Early supplier engagement and cross-functional teamwork—spanning finance, engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing—ensure smooth operations. Sharing knowledge and technology with suppliers further strengthens local manufacturing capabilities, making the process more efficient and cost-effective.
