Emobi Addressing Last-Mile Delivery Challenges with Robust EVs
March 07, 2025. By Aishwarya

Que: Can you tell us the USP of the Emobi EV solutions that makes them stand out in the electric vehicle segment?
Ans: Emobi has built their vehicles ground up with a specific focus on reliability, performance and after sales service for personal mobility and e-commerce use cases as robust electric two-wheeler platforms for both urban and rural India. Emobi’s vehicles offer options of battery swapping and fixed use battery packs with fast charging to offer the flexibility for the consumers to choose the options that best meet their requirements. Emobi’s partnership with Livaah has also unveiled solar charging options for the dual use battery pack to showcase and make available vehicle to grid storage technologies.
Que: What challenges have you faced in designing EVs for last-mile delivery applications?
Ans: The use case of last-mile delivery applications are very high with daily usages exceeding 100kms per day in most cases, this necessitated design, development and manufacturing of vehicles with a specific focus on reliability, performance and easily serviceable vehicle platforms. These led to extensive testing of the vehicle platforms with last mile delivery companies and incorporating the feedback from the testing to integrate into the vehicle platforms.
Que: How do you apply lean manufacturing principles to the production of electric vehicles?
Ans: The vehicles being designed by Emobi have kept in mind lean manufacturing principles and frugal engineering, to ensure that the costs of the vehicle are kept affordable at low volumes and enable easy assembly in various markets through our micro factory assembly facilities closer to the markets where the vehicles are to be deployed.
Que: What considerations are taken into account when selecting materials for lightweight EV construction?
Ans: We have considered materials keeping in mind costs and the tradeoffs with weight, without compromising on the reliability, performance and serviceability of the vehicles. This enables us to offer platforms and vehicle variants that provide robust electric two wheelers for personal commute and strenuous last mile delivery operations.
Que: How do you ensure the safety of battery packs under various operating conditions?
Ans: We have advanced battery management solutions and advanced thermal management designs integrated into the battery pack designs, and working directly with cell manufacturers to ensure that we are using chemistries that are suitable for high temperature operations, we have ensured that the battery packs are designed keeping safe operations as the primary focus of all our battery packs.
Que: Sustainability has become a key mantra for every business. What strategies does Emobi use to minimize waste and emissions during vehicle production?
Ans: Emobi has integrated solar energy into its assembly operations, and has designed the vehicles to last for a design life in excess of 25 years, this ensures minimum emissions during recycling and building of new vehicles, we are also evaluating incorporating bio-plastics into our new vehicle models to ensure sustainability across our product lifetimes and minimal impact on the environment.
