June 13, 2023. By News Bureau

Que: Goldi Solar has been making significant strides in the industry, with plans to double its annual revenue in FY 2023-24. Could you shed some light on the company's current and upcoming projects?
Ans: We are expanding our manufacturing capacity, with plans to increase module manufacturing capacity to 6 GW by 2025 and cell production capacity to 5 GW by 2025. Goldi Solar has a capacity of 2.5 GW and will be 4 GW in 2023. Furthermore, we planto expand our reach by penetrating additional pin codes and engaging with end-consumers through our fast-expanding channel business.
Que: Goldi Solar announced the collaboration with L&T Public Charitable Trust on the skill development program earlier this year. Tell us more about the program and its curriculum.
Ans: At Goldi Solar, we believe in investing in the solar industry's future. Our collaboration with L&T Public Charitable Trust aims to provide skill development training to individuals interested in pursuing their solar industry careers. The curriculum covers various aspects of PV technology, including module manufacturing, quality control, testing procedures, basic engineering, and industrial safety. It will be the first-of-its-kind initiative to fill the industry's gap in the trained and certified workforce. The two organisations believe close cooperation would benefit the local community by enhancing their skills and employability by offering weekend workshops and on-floor training on emerging technologies.
Que: Please brief us on TOPCon and other emerging technologies in the solar industry. Also, take us through some of the technology-driven products provided by Goldi.
Ans: The solar industry is constantly evolving, and new technologies are emerging that promise to revolutionise the industry. Goldi Solar has consistently created and delivered quality modules. Our mantra has been to be ahead of the technology curve to provide better and more efficient products and solutions for our customers. With the upcoming line,we shall offer the TopConmodules up to 16 BBwithin 2023. We have also unveiled a 710 Wp bifacial solar module based on heterojunction (HJT) technology. The module is built with 132 half-cells and has a conversion efficiency of up to 22.85 percent.
Que: Goldi Solar bids to ramp up its module and cell production to 6 GW and 5 GW by the end of 2025. What steps have you been taking to fulfil this ambitious target?
Ans: We are investing in expanding our manufacturing capabilities to achieve our production targets. We are also investing in R&D to develop new products and technologies that are more efficient and cost-effective. Additionally, we are forming strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure a steady supply of raw materials. Building a skilled workforce is also a key area of focus, and the training has started.
Que: Goldi Solar has plans to strengthen its workforce to 5000 employees by FY 2024-25. What, according to you, are the new job trends shaping the future of the solar energy sector?
Ans: The solar energy sector has been experiencing tremendous growth globally, and as a result, new job trends are emerging that are shaping the industry's future. One of the primary trends is the growing demand for skilled workers who can design, install, operate, and maintain solar energy systems. Another trend shaping the future in the industry is the increasing use of technology and automation. As PV panel production becomes more automated, the need for highly skilled technicians to maintain and repair these systems is rising. Integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning also demands professionals to manage and analyze data to optimize solar energy production.
In addition to these, there is also a growing focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility, increasing job opportunities in areas such as energy efficiency, renewable energy policy, and sustainability consulting. As Goldi Solar plans to strengthen its workforce to 5000 employees by FY 2024-25, it is essential to keep up with the emerging job trends and prepare a skilled and adaptable workforce for these changes.
Que: Share your outlook on the government goals and policies for the solar energy sector.
Ans: The government is promoting the adoption of clean energy and rolling out policies to support the growth of solar energy in the country. The Indian Manufacturers are keenly looking forward to stability, alignment, and consistency in these policies, which will eventually encourage much-needed technology innovation and scale up the production capacity to meet the PM's Vision of 'Make In India' and Energy Independent vision.Additionally, incentive policies to promote solar exports will help India increase its share in the booming global solar markets.
