Que: What is OPG Mobility showcasing at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025?
Ans: We are showcasing our complete product range at the Bharat Mobility Expo under the Ferrato and OTTOOPG brands. OTTOOPG is the company's three-wheeler division, which includes L3 and L5 vehicles for both passenger and cargo applications. At the expo, OPG Mobility is displaying its full product lineup, including L5 passenger, L5 cargo, and e-rickshaws for different segments.
Additionally, we are presenting its two-wheeler portfolio, including new product launches. One of the key highlights is the unveiling of the Ferrato DEFY 22, which is being launched at the event with esteemed guests. The company is also showcasing its future product lineup for the coming year, giving attendees an exclusive preview of upcoming innovations.
Que: Does the Ferrato DEFY 22 offer any customizable features or accessories catered to individual drivers?
Ans: The Ferrato DEFY 22 offers a variety of features and accessories tailored to consumer preferences. To enhance personalization, the company has curated a range of dual-tone and single-color options, ensuring a unique and stylish look. The aim of these custom colors and design elements is to offer consumers a sense of individuality and distinction on the road.
Additionally, the DEFY 22 comes equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system that enhances the driving experience. The touchscreen and the entire vehicle are IP67-rated, making them resistant to dust and water. The vehicle is also equipped with IP65 chargers, designed to mitigate battery failures caused by dust and water penetration, a common issue in the industry.
Most of the components in Ferrato products, including motors, controllers, TFT screens, metal frames, and plastic parts, are developed using in-house technology. However, the company remains open to partnerships and has established key collaborations in the supply chain. In the three-wheeler segment, whether for L5 cargo or passenger applications, OPG Mobility continues to explore advanced technologies beyond its current manufacturing capabilities.
Que: What advancements in battery technology are incorporated in the Ferrato DEFY 22 and how do they improve the range and charging efficiency?
Ans: The Ferrato DEFY 22 features an upgraded battery design that has undergone extensive testing for over a year and a half. The core technology used in the battery packs is Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP), which is implemented across both two-wheelers and three-wheelers. The new battery design also includes an upgraded Battery Management System (BMS) that ensures state-of-the-art security, safety, and optimal performance.
Additionally, the battery is AIS 156 Phase 2 approved, providing double-layer security and enhancing the overall lifespan of the product. The combination of LFP technology, advanced design, and rigorous safety standards ensures that this new battery generation delivers superior reliability and efficiency.
Que: Sustainability has become a key mantra for every industry. How is OPG Mobility contributing to sustainability in its initiatives?
Ans: The Ferrato DEFY 22 plays a crucial role in OPG Mobility’s commitment to sustainability, particularly in terms of design and manufacturing. The company’s mission is to be a fully electric brand providing sustainable mobility solutions. All OPG Mobility products are aligned with sustainability goals, covering both two-wheelers and three-wheelers for mass mobility.
Most of the components are manufactured in India, supporting the ‘Make in India’ initiative. The company’s manufacturing units drive sustainability by incorporating green practices and energy-efficient production processes. Additionally, OPG Mobility with its group company, Mtek Power for electric charging stations and energy storage systems, further contributing to a sustainable ecosystem within the industry.
Que: Are there any financing or leasing options planned for consumers to make this scooter more accessible?
Ans: OPG Mobility has established several financing and leasing options to make its products more accessible to consumers. The company has partnered with the State Bank of India (SBI) to provide inventory funding, making it the first in the industry to offer such funding for both two-wheelers and three-wheelers. Additionally, recognizing the heavy reliance on financing in the three-wheeler market, OPG Mobility has collaborated with over 15 Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) to facilitate local-level financing in Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4 cities.
These strategic partnerships are aimed at increasing retail penetration across India, ensuring that financing options are available to a wider consumer base.
Que: What is OPG Mobility’s expansion strategy, and how is it enhancing its distribution network?
Ans: OPG Mobility’s primary focus remains on expanding within India. The company’s expansion strategy is structured in a three-phase approach: first, ensuring strong product offerings; second, developing a robust distribution network; and third, optimizing customer service to ensure a seamless experience.
For 2025, the company’s key focus is to strengthen its distribution network, particularly in the South and West regions, which have historically been challenging markets. To achieve this, OPG Mobility is forming new partnerships with distributors in various districts and cities. The emphasis is on collaborating with partners who follow the 3S (Sales, Service, and Spare Parts) model, ensuring end-to-end consumer support.
Additionally, the company is working closely with its teams to expand into Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities, prioritizing customer satisfaction and service excellence. By following this structured expansion plan, OPG Mobility aims to enhance customer experience and ensure long-term growth in the electric vehicle sector.
