WBHIDCO and Powerbank Ties Up to Establish Fast Charging Hub for EVs Near Kolkata

The West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (WBHIDCO) in alliance with a private firm Powerbank has set as "Eastern India's largest" public rapid charging hub for electric vehicles (EVs) near Kolkata.

The EV Charging Hub located at New Town near Kolkata is presently enable of rapid-charging 25 vehicles at a time.

Moreover, expansions will facilitate 50-75 vehicles to get rapid charging and slow charging amenities. The public can use and access these charging amenities in a trouble-free way through the Powerbank EV charging mobile application.

The charging centre is located near the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, run by WBHIDCO, an agency of the West Bengal government.

West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (WBHIDCO) formulate strategies and executes development projects in the 6,000–7,000 hectare area throughout in Rajarhat, Kolkata, West Bengal.

WBHIDCO is putting effort in developing Rajarhat, New Town as a futuristic smart city. The agency has planned to establish the geographic information system ( GIS) to have an entire computerized database of Rajarhat.

Powerbank is under the parent companies are Lithium Urban Technologies which is India’s first zero-emission logistics service and the largest electric E-Mobility entity in the market and Fourth Partner Energy is notably Distributed Solar Companies.
