Waaree Energies Ltd. has announced that the company has secured orders for supply of modules up to 364 MWp and 160 MWp from renowned customers engaged in the business of owning, developing and operating renewable power projects in India.

The supply of modules is scheduled to commence in FY 2024-25 and FY 2025-2026, according to a regulatory filing by the company.

Last month, the company announced securing two orders for its solar modules from RE projects companies. While about a week back, the company announced securing a 600 MWp module supply contract, it received another order for supply of modules up to 180 MWp.

While the supply for the 600 MWp order was expected to commence in the beginning of FY 2025-26, the supply for the 180 MWp order is slated to begin by November 2024 and completion is expected by the end of FY 2025.

The company operates five manufacturing facilities across Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, with an installed capacity of ~13.3GW for solar PV modules (including 1.3GW of Indosolar).

Waaree Energies’ 5.4 GW solar cell manufacturing plant in Chikhli, Gujarat is expected to commence commercial operation by mid-December 2024. Further, a 6 GW integrated facility in Odisha too is in the advanced stages of planning.

Going beyond solar, Waaree's ambition is to move towards a broader energy transition theme. Hence, the company is also foraying into green hydrogen and battery energy storage systems.

“Our electrolyser manufacturing plan is in advanced stages, and we should be in a position to communicate the same to you in the next two months' time. We are getting into renewable power infrastructure. Our Board has just sanctioned INR 600 crore of investment for this particular foray, which we are going to use for connectivity and for bidding,” revealed the company during an investors’ call.
