VSL Renewable Services has been awarded a comprehensive Operation and Maintenance (O&M) contract for a three-year period, at APGENCO’s 527 MWp solar power plant in Tadipatri, Andhra Pradesh.

The contract aims to optimise the plant's performance, maximise energy output, and ensure its long-term sustainability. VSL Renewable Services will achieve this through proactive maintenance strategies, advanced monitoring systems, and cutting-edge technology to enhance the plant’s efficiency and reliability.

Commenting on the development, Navdeep Singh Ahuja, AVP, VSL Renewable Services said, “This is a major achievement for us, as this project is one of the largest Public Sector Solar Plants, with a comprehensive scope and several industry-first features. Given our significant focus and investment in ‘People, Process and Technology’, this win will further strengthen our portfolio and drive greater success in our sustainability journey.”

APGENCO, the state-owned power generation corporation, has made significant strides in the renewable energy sector, with a key focus on solar power. The Tadipatri Solar Power Plant, one of the largest in India, contributes to Andhra Pradesh’s ambitious clean energy goals. The plant is also integral to India’s national target of reaching 100 GW of solar capacity by 2025.

In this context, ensuring its operational efficiency is critical, as large-scale solar plants are vulnerable to issues like equipment malfunction, weather disruptions, and maintenance challenges. To address these concerns, APGENCO sought a reliable partner that could help maximise energy production, reduce downtime, and ensure the plant’s smooth, long-term operation.

VSL Renewable Services has proven to be the ideal partner, offering a comprehensive O&M framework that covers several critical aspects of plant performance and management. The company provides continuous monitoring and servicing of the solar power plant, ensuring smooth operations and maximum energy output. This includes proactive inspections, timely repairs, and ongoing optimization. Further, a robust insurance framework is in place to protect the plant against unforeseen risks, such as natural disasters, equipment failure, and other potential disruptions.

VSL also uses accurate energy forecasting and efficient maintenance scheduling to align the plant’s production with demand and grid requirements, ensuring optimal output and reducing any operational waste.

The company stated that the contract includes a generation-linked guarantee to ensure that the plant meets predefined energy production targets, providing APGENCO with predictable and reliable financial returns. Further, the O&M contract incorporates stringent security measures to protect both the plant’s infrastructure and personnel, ensuring safety and the smooth running of operations. Moreover, VSL deploys a highly skilled team of experts in DC, AC, HT, and Inverter technology, minimising downtime and ensuring the highest possible uptime for the solar plant.

The collaboration between APGENCO and VSL Renewable Services serves as a model of excellence in renewable energy operations. “By ensuring the Tadipatri Solar Power Plant operates at its full potential, the partnership is not only helping Andhra Pradesh meet its renewable energy goals but is also setting a benchmark for sustainable, efficient, and profitable solar power operations across India. This success underscores the importance of expert O&M services in ensuring the longevity and reliability of solar power infrastructure,” stated the company.
