Volkswagen has introduced the ID. EVERY1, a concept car that previews the German automaker’s vision for an affordable all-electric vehicle, set to launch in 2027 with a starting price of around EUR 20,000.
Designed 'from Europe, for Europe,' the compact EV aims to make sustainable mobility accessible to a broader audience, complementing the upcoming ID. 2all, which will debut in 2026 at an estimated EUR 25,000.
With the ID. EVERY1, Volkswagen continues its tradition of producing compact, practical, and budget-friendly vehicles, much like the iconic Beetle and Up!
The concept is part of the brand’s Electric Urban Car Family, developed under Volkswagen’s Brand Group Core, which also oversees other high-volume models across the Volkswagen Group.
The ID. EVERY1 introduces a new software architecture, enabling lifelong updates and upgrades. This approach ensures that even after purchase, owners can customize their vehicles with new features, making the car future-proof.
“We are putting our customers at the center of development more than ever before. The ID. EVERY1 will be the first in our lineup to feature a fundamentally new, powerful software system,” said Kai Grünitz, Volkswagen Board Member for Technical Development.
Volkswagen’s Head of Design, Andreas Mindt, describes the ID. EVERY1 as 'bold yet accessible.' The car’s dynamic front lights and smiling rear design lend it a friendly yet confident identity, making it more than just another electric vehicle.
The concept measures 3,880 mm in length, placing it between the former Up! (3,600 mm) and the current Polo (4,074 mm). Despite its compact size, it boasts a spacious interior for four passengers and a 305-liter luggage compartment, emphasizing practicality for urban driving.
Built on Volkswagen’s modular electric drive (MEB) platform with front-wheel drive, the ID. EVERY1 is powered by a 70 kW (95 PS) electric motor and can reach a top speed of 130 km/h. The vehicle offers a minimum range of 250 km, making it ideal for city commutes and short trips.
With a commitment to affordable electrification, Volkswagen is poised to redefine entry-level EV ownership in Europe. The ID. EVERY1 represents a significant step forward in Volkswagen’s mission to provide sustainable, accessible, and future-ready mobility for all.
