Veers Group and Aiko Energy Launch Solar Joint Venture

Veers Group and Aiko Energy have launched Aiko Energy SA to revolutionise South Africa’s solar sector, combining advanced solar technology with local expertise for broader market impact.

In a pivotal move for South Africa’s renewable energy landscape, Cape Town-based Veers Group has partnered with China’s Aiko Energy to launch a new joint venture, Aiko Energy SA. This strategic alliance aims to significantly impact South Africa’s solar sector by merging Aiko’s advanced N-Type ABC solar modules with Veers Group’s extensive local knowledge.

Aiko Energy SA will focus on expanding utility-scale and distribution solar projects throughout South Africa and across the African continent. The joint venture is also dedicated to fostering black economic empowerment and promoting sustainable development. Muneeb Gambeno, Managing Director of Aiko Energy SA, emphasised the venture's commitment to uplifting local communities and driving sustainable growth within the region.

Hashveer Singh, CEO of Veers Group, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the opportunity to integrate Aiko’s cutting-edge solar technology with their local expertise. He noted that this collaboration is set to set new benchmarks in efficiency and sustainability, benefiting various stakeholders involved.

Aiko Energy, renowned for its impressive 120GW solar cell output, will leverage this joint venture to distribute its high-efficiency solar modules in South Africa. Meimei Yu, President of MEA Sales at Aiko Solar, praised the partnership as a fusion of global innovation and local insight. Yu expressed confidence that Aiko Energy SA will accelerate South Africa’s transition to a low-carbon future and serve as a model for sustainable growth on a global scale.
