VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) and GreenCell Mobility have signed a deal to supply 1,000 electric buses over a period of the next five years.
Under the terms of the agreement, VECV will provide 1,000 Eicher electric buses to bolster GreenCell Mobility's intercity bus division called NueGo.
NueGo is already established in over 30 cities all over India, including major metro cities such as Delhi, Chandigarh, Agra, Bengaluru, and Chennai, among others.
VECV's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Vinod Aggarwal, expressed the company's commitment to prioritizing superior uptime and advancing alternate fuel initiatives. He enthusiastically welcomed the partnership with GreenCell Mobility, emphasizing their shared mission to drive decarbonization in city mobility.
Notably, VECV and GreenCell Mobility have pledged to collaborate closely to ensure the development of industry-leading vehicle engineering, robust data integration, and advanced safety features. This commitment underscores their dedication to pushing the boundaries of innovation within the E-bus sector.
Earlier this year, EverSource Capital's substantial investment of INR 1500 crore aimed for more than double the number of electric buses deployed by GreenCell Mobility on Indian roads.
