Uttar Pradesh to Establish Green Energy Corridor and Free Registration for EV
The state cabinet that wave the signal to establish 2,172-km-long transmission lines worth INR 4,786 crore to evacuate power from various solar energy projects.

Uttar Pradesh cabinet sanctioned green energy corridor project to evacuate power from the 4,000 mw power to be generated from various solar energy projects in the Bundelkhand region of the state.
The state Cabinet has also approved free of cost registration of electric vehicles whereas fitness certificates will be accessible throughout the state.
Power Minister AK Sharma stated that for transmission of renewable energy the Green Energy Corridor is an exquisite project of the Government of India.
He mentioned that power plants varying ranging from 1800 MW to 600 MW would be establish in many areas such as Jalaun, Lalitpur and Jhansi in Bundelkhand and energy produced from them requirements effective transmission.

Apart from, 20 sub-stations would be built for effective transmission of green energy. The above mentioned sub-stations, one would be of 765 KW, 3 of 400 KW capacity, 10 sub-stations of 220 KW each and six sub-stations of 132 KW. This project estimated as completion would be in the subsequent 2-3 years.
The state government would contribute 20 percent of the project cost, the union government would support 33 percent of the cost whereas a German company would give the rest 47percent of the funds.
