UPNEDA Invites Expression of Interest for Floating Solar Projects at 35 Dams and Reservoirs in UP
Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) to know the interest of the floating solar project developers for setting up the floating solar projects at 35 dams/reservoirs in Uttar Pradesh.

The last date for submission of bids is January 20, 2025. EOI will be opened on January 21, 2025.
The site for development i.e., dams or reservoirs will be allotted by the State Level Committee (SLC).
The floating solar power plant developers will be required to survey, design, supply, install, test, and commission with operations and maintenance of the solar projects.
They also need to connect the same with the nearest STU/DISCOM substation along with the commissioning of the project within the stipulated time period.
Bidders must obtain and maintain all consents, clearances, permits and approvals for the entire lease period. They also have to arrange for the power procurer on its own.
UPNEDA is a nodal implementing agency under Uttar Pradesh Solar Energy Policy 2022 which has set a target of the addition of 22,000 MW of solar energy by 2027. Out of this, 14,000 MW is a target set for large-scale solar power projects.
