UPNEDA Invites Bids for 5 MW Solar Power Project in Mau District, Uttar Pradesh

The project will be developed on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis and is part of UPNEDA's broader efforts to expand renewable energy capacity in the state.

The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has announced a Request for Selection (RfS) for the development of a 5 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) power project in the Saraisadi village of Mau district, Uttar Pradesh. 

The project will be developed on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis and is part of UPNEDA's broader efforts to expand renewable energy capacity in the state.

The selected solar power developer will be responsible for setting up the project, with UPNEDA providing 29.2 acres of land on a lease for 30 years at a rate of INR 15,000 per acre per annum. The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) will enter into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the successful bidder to procure solar power for a period of 25 years.

"UPPCL shall enter into PPA with successful SPGs/bidder for a period of 25 years from the date as per the provisions of PPA. The maximum tariff payable to the Project Developer is fixed at INR 2.98/kWh for 25 years. This shall be inclusive of all statutory taxes, duties, levies, cess if applicable as on the last date of bid submission," the tender document read.

The bidding process will be conducted online through a single-stage, two-envelope system, followed by an e-reverse auction. Bids must be submitted by September 17, 2024, with the techno-commercial bid opening scheduled for September 18, 2024. A bidder including its Parent, Affiliate or Ultimate Parent or any Group Company can only submit a single bid in the prescribed formats.
