TTD Partners with IOCL to Set Up Biogas Plant at Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has partnered with Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) to establish a 40-tonne capacity biogas plant at Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati district, with an investment of INR 12.85 crore.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has joined hands with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) to set up a 40-tonne capacity biogas plant at Tirumala in the Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh.
The foundation stone for the same was laid by TTD’s executive officer Ch Venkaiah Chowdary in the presence of IOCL’s executive director and state head B Anil Kumar on November 6, 2024.
The plant is being set up in over 2.22 acres with a compost storage unit over 0.17 acres to generate 40 tonnes of gas daily.
“In the plant costing INR 12.85 crore, TTD will invest INR 5.80 core while the remaining INR 7.05 crore will be invested by IOCL,” informed TTD in a statement.
It further added that on completion of the project, biogas generated from the mixed wastes every day shall be supplied through a 2.5 km long pipeline to the Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Anna Prasadam complex (MTVAC).
