Trinasolar ISBU Signs 20-Year PPA with Equinix for 30MW Solar Power Plant in Hokkaido, Japan
The agreement will see the solar power plant (30MW) in Yufutsu Abira, Hokkaido, generate approximately 36GWh of electricity per year from the third quarter of 2028.

Trinasolar ISBU, the developer of large-scale grid-connected photovoltaic power plants and energy storage facilities within the Trina Solar Group, has announced that it has signed a 20-year renewable energy power purchase agreement (PPA) with Equinix through its Japanese subsidiary, Trina Solar Japan Energy Co., Ltd.
The agreement will see the solar power plant (30MW) in Yufutsu Abira, Hokkaido, generate approximately 36GWh of electricity per year from the third quarter of 2028.
This agreement marks a major step for Trina Solar ISBU in its journey from providing renewable energy solutions to becoming a clean energy supplier in the Japanese market, and also supports Equinix's long-term sustainability strategy.
Additionally, this agreement marks Equinix's first PPA in Japan and represents the expanding role Trina Solar ISBU will play in supporting Japan's digital economy and industrial decarbonization.
