Torrent Power Introduces New Public EV Charging Stations in Gujarat
To start with, it has installed four EV charging stations in Ahmedabad with two more expected to commence in Surat soon. It plans to cover more cities in the near future.

Torrent Power Ltd, a private-sector integrated power utility in India, has collaborated with Siemens and entered into the electric mobility infrastructure sector with the introduction of public EV charging stations in Gujarat.
To start with, it has installed four EV charging stations in Ahmedabad with two more expected to commence in Surat soon. It plans to cover more cities in the near future.
Varun Mehta, Director of Torrent Power said "We are working towards creating a widespread EV charging network that is affordable, accessible and convenient for all. By providing a reliable and extensive charging network, Torrent hopes to alleviate range anxiety and promote the widespread adoption of electric vehicles."
A robust Public EV charging infrastructure is crucial to accelerate a revolution in the mobility sector by encouraging people to switch to EVs and making it more convenient for them to do so.
The company has partnered with SIEMENS for developing the EV Charging network. TPL has established three 60KW DC Fast chargers, one each at Prahladnagar, Naranpura and Drive-In-Road in Ahmedabad. Each charger can charge two vehicles simultaneously. Besides this, 22 kW AC chargers have also been installed at Raipur, in Ahmedabad.
