Torrent Gas Ltd Appoints Manoj Jain as Managing Director

Former Chairman of GAIL (India) Ltd, Manoj Jain, has been named the Managing Director of Torrent Gas Ltd, a prominent city gas operator.
 
The company, with licenses to supply CNG for automobiles and piped natural gas to households and industries in 34 districts nationwide, announced the appointment, effective from January 1, 2024.
 
Jain's distinguished career, spanning multiple areas within GAIL, has established him as an expert in the oil and gas sector. He has excelled in business development, gas marketing, projects, petrochemicals, and pipeline integrity management.
 
Jain, who joined GAIL as a graduate engineer trainee in 1985, steadily rose through the ranks, ultimately serving as its Chairman and Managing Director from February 2020 to August 2022.
 
Samir Mehta, Chairman of Torrent Group, expressed enthusiasm over Jain's arrival, highlighting the critical role the city gas sector will play in realizing the vision of India as a gas-based economy.
 
Torrent Gas, a subsidiary of Torrent Group with substantial revenues and market capitalization, holds licenses for CNG and piped natural gas distribution in 34 districts across seven states and one Union Territory.
