ThunderPlus has inked a strategic partnership with Turno to establish ultra-speed 1 MW charging facilities along key highways, starting from Hyderabad to Vizag.

This initiative is set to transform the EV landscape by addressing range anxiety and accelerating the adoption of electric buses and heavy commercial vehicles.

This ambitious collaboration aligns with ThunderPlus’ visionary ‘One District, One Thunder’ initiative, ensuring that every district in India hosts at least one ThunderPlus charging station, with priority given to districts along national and state highways.

"While these charging stations are primarily designed for electric bus operations, they will also function as semi-public charging hubs. This partnership eliminates charging anxiety and paves the way for faster EV adoption across India," said Rajeev YSR, CEO of ThunderPlus.

"We are thrilled to partner with ThunderPlus as we expand our footprint in the large vehicle segment with Electrigo and strengthen our presence in the EV ecosystem. ThunderPlus has been instrumental in shaping India's EV landscape along with its innovative sister companies. With this collaboration, Electrigo aims to replace 10 crore bus kilometers of diesel consumption with electric by the end of 2026, marking a significant step towards a cleaner, more sustainable future," said Sudhindra Reddy, Founder of Electrigo, a wholly owned subsidiary of Turno.

The impact of this initiative is already visible, with charging stations operational in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Vizag, and Rajahmundry. The partnership will soon expand to other key highways, ensuring seamless intercity travel for electric buses and commercial fleets.
