The new Solar-Log™ models at Renewable Energy India Expo 2013

The new products have been enhanced with numerous features.

August 09, 2013. By Gisela Bühl

At the Renewable Energy India Expo 2013 from 12 September to 14 September 2013 in New Dehli (India) Solare Datensysteme will present three new models of the Solar-Log™ monitoring system. The Solar-Log 300 and Solar-Log 1200 are for small domestic installations and medium-sized plants. In addition, the Solar-Log 2000 is for large-scale PV plants. The new models have a new design and have been updated with many new features.

Exciting innovations and interesting additional features for the Solar-Log™ WEB "Commercial Edition" internet portal will also be presented at the Renewable Energy India Expo. The WEB "Commercial Edition" enables plant operators to monitor several plants at once via the internet.

The current product range of the Solar-Log 200, 500 and 1000 models has been enhanced with the addition of the new Solar-Log 300, Solar-Log 1200 and Solar-Log 2000 models. Every model offers numerous functions for optimal monitoring of solar plants.

All of the proven features from the current models are also available in the new product line. Additionally, these models also offer important enhancements and have been optimized. All of the new models come with a state-of-the-art LCD display. Installers can see the current operating status during installation and during operation on the display. The Solar-Log 1200 and Solar-Log 2000 also come with an additional TFT color touch screen. The touch screen is easy to operate and displays all of the important plant performance information. Another innovation is the standard USB connection. This allows for automatic data backups and simplifies the firmware updates so that you always have the latest features and enhancements. An important change is that the Solar-Log™ product line is no longer differentiated by the number of inverters but rather by the plant power in kWp. This allows for more flexibility in the planning phase. Another focus was simplifying the configuration. To accomplish this, the administration control panel for all current and new Solar-Log™ models has been completely reworked. Another important optimization for all of the current and new models pertains to performance with the Solar-Log™ WEB "Commercial Edition" and "Classic 2nd Edition." The data transmission volume has been reduced by 80 % without sacrificing the actual depth of data.

Solar-Log 300 – an all-round talent for small plants

The Solar-Log 300 can be installed in plants with a maximum total power of 15 kWp, regardless of the number of inverters. Therefore, this new model can monitor smaller plants with two or three inverters of the same manufacturers without any problems.  Of course, power management has been taken into account with all of the new models. The intelligent management of the 70% regulation is rather attractive for small plants. The Solar-Log can help to further optimize the share of self-produced power.  There is also an option to buy the Solar-Log 300 with the well-established Power Management function (PM+) for the connection to a ripple control receiver or a Solar-Log 300 Meter.

Solar-Log 2000 – a professional high-end device for large-scale PV plants and solar power stations

The Solar-Log 2000 is comfortable monitoring and controlling large-scale PV plants and solar power stations.  The new high-performance top-of-the-line model can monitor a maximum plant size of 2000 kWp and up to 100 inverters. With its master/slave technology, a total of 10 Solar-Log 2000 can be connected together at one plant. This greatly expands the maximum possible plant size. The Solar-Log 2000 has all of the advanced power management functions that are required in Germany for plants with 100 kWp or more, e.g. PM+, remote control technology and utility meter.

The Solar-Log 2000 comes with an additional third RS485/422 interface.

This allows for maximum connection flexibility. This means that it can be connected to inverters from up to three different manufacturers, string combiner boxes and electricity meters or sensors without any difficulties.

This high-end model also has all of the innovations found in the rest of the product line such as a TFT color touch screen, an LCD status display and additional connections, e.g. for a CAN bus and alarm contact.
