THDC India to Establish EV Charging Stations for Eco-Friendly Char Dham Yatra Route
State-owned THDC India Ltd (THDCIL) has announced its plans to develop electric vehicle (EV) charging stations along the revered Char Dham Yatra route in Uttarakhand, aimed at curbing carbon emissions along the sacred journey.

State-owned THDC India Ltd (THDCIL) has announced its plans to develop electric vehicle (EV) charging stations along the revered Char Dham Yatra route in Uttarakhand, aimed at curbing carbon emissions along the sacred journey.
THDCIL's Chairman and Managing Director, RK Vishnoi, revealed that they have inked an agreement with Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Ltd (GMVN) for the initial deployment of EV charging stations at 14 strategic locations in the state.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed, marking a significant collaborative effort to promote the use of electric vehicles during the Char Dham Yatra. This initiative aligns with the shared goal of reducing pollution on this spiritually significant route.
Both organizations are committed to swiftly making the charging stations operational, with the aim of having them ready before the commencement of the Char Dham Yatra next year.
This joint effort represents a notable step toward offering sustainable and eco-friendly transportation options in Uttarakhand.
THDCIL, headquartered in Rishikesh, boasts a diverse portfolio of 10 projects in hydro, thermal, wind, and solar energy, with a cumulative capacity of 4,516 MW.
