Technip Energies and IIT Madras Collaborate on Energy Research for Low-Carbon Future

Technip Energies has joined forces with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) to look for opportunities in multiple fields of energy research.
The goal of this research partnership is to explore strategies that will create a sustainable and low-carbon future for both India and the whole world.
Davendra Kumar, Managing Director of Technip Energies India, said, “With Technip Energies’ vision towards achieving Net-Zero, we believe that the power of collaboration will drive innovation and address the urgent global challenges in the energy sector. Hence, we joined hands with The Energy Consortium at the IIT Madras to develop new technologies in the energy segment under a collaborative research approach.”
IIT Madras' Energy Consortium initiative strengthens the partnership between business, academia, and the government by accelerating the development of technologies that are pivotal for the shift to a sustainable and low-carbon future.
Nikhil Tambe, CEO – Energy Consortium, IIT Madras, stated, “The Energy Consortium affiliated faculty are collaboratively advancing research in areas of national importance and as broad as achieving round-the-clock renewables as well as carbon capture and utilization. Alongside our industry founding member Technip Energies, the energy consortium possesses the momentum to advance on an unprecedented effort of coordinated activities in energy grand challenge areas in India.”
This venture's main focus areas comprise energy systems, energy storage, carbon capture, storage, and utilization, green hydrogen, energy efficiency.
