Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd. (TCIL) has issued a tender inviting bids for significant solar projects in Oman.

The tender seeks proposals for the design, engineering, supply, construction, testing, commissioning, and operation and maintenance of a 20 MW solar PV project at Muscat International Airport and a 6 MW project at Salalah Airport on an asset lease basis. The client, based in Oman, has not been disclosed.

Interested parties have until October 16, 2023, to submit their bids, with bid openings taking place on the same day.

Notably, bidders are exempt from tender fees and earnest money deposits. The Performance Security Guarantee (PBG) must be at least 5 percent of the contract's value, or as determined on a case-by-case basis if TCIL is awarded the contract.

The financial criteria for bidders include having an average annual financial turnover of at least 30 percent of the estimated cost of purchase during the last three financial years, with positive net worth and profitability before tax in two out of the last three financial years.

The Middle East has become an attractive destination for Indian developers to establish renewable and green energy projects. TCIL has been actively seeking opportunities in the region, including the recently tendered solar projects at Oman airports.

This initiative aligns with the growing interest in renewable energy projects and partnerships in the Middle East and the ongoing efforts to expand clean energy infrastructure in the region.
