Tata Power Solar Won 300 MW Solar Project From NHPC

Tata Power Solar, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power, announced that it has received an order from NHPC for a 300-megawatt (MW) solar project costing Rs 1,731 crore.

The project will be developed under the IREDA's CPSU scheme and will be located in Rajasthan.

On Monday, Tata Power Solar, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power, announced that it has received an order from NHPC for a 300 megawatt (MW) solar project costing Rs 1,731 crore.

According to a press release issued by the company. The project will be developed under the IREDA's CPSU scheme and will be located in Rajasthan. 

"The project will be completed within 18 months of the period, aims to reduce 6,36,960 carbon emissions, and is expected to generate about 750 million units annually," it said. 

It went on to say that the project's installation would use Indian-made cells and modules.

"This project underlines the industry's confidence in our ability to develop and deliver world-class solar projects on time using Indian technology," said Praveer Sinha, chief executive officer, and managing director, Tata Power. 

The company said that with this win, its pending order book reaches Rs 13,500 crore and the total utility-scale solar project portfolio has touched 9.7 gigawatts.

Recently Tata Power Solar also received India's largest EPC contract for the development of a 1 GW solar project.

Tata Power Solar Systems has been granted the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for SJVN Limited's 1 GW solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

The project is expected to cost 54.91 billion rupees, making it India's largest solar EPC deal. The project is expected to be finished 24 months after the EPC contract is issued, in May 2024.
