Utility major Tata Power’s renewable arm Tata Power Solar has commissioned a 160 MW AC solar project at Jetstar in Rajasthan.

The 160 MW solar plant installed approx 6,75,000 monocrystalline photovoltaic (PV) modules and will produce 387 MUs of energy every year.
The project order's scope included engineering, design, supply, construction, erection, testing, O&M and commissioning.

The company said that it has completed the Jetstar project within a period of 15 months and is a testament to its exceptional project execution capabilities. The project engineers worked under tough climatic conditions including movement of men and machinery to the project site.

The Jetstar project is one of the largest solar projects in Rajasthan. It will not only increase the share of renewable power in the overall energy mix of the state but also contribute its bit towards India's ambitious renewable energy targets.

The company with over 32 years of deep domain expertise is one of the pioneering solar manufacturers in the world and India’s largest specialized EPC player. Founded in 1989, the company was originally formed as a joint venture between Tata Power and British Petroleum Solar (BP Solar). As a pioneer and market leader in the solar space, headquartered in Bangalore, Tata Power Solar now operates independently as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power.
