Tata Motors, India's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer and a key player in the passenger EV market, has supplied the first batch of state-of-the-art Ultra EV air-conditioned electric buses to Srinagar Smart City Limited.

This delivery is part of a larger order to provide, maintain, and operate 100 electric buses in Srinagar and 100 in Jammu over a 12-year period for the Jammu and Srinagar Smart City projects.

The initiative is in line with the Housing and Urban Development Department of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir's plan to establish an environmentally and financially sustainable public transport network for Srinagar.

These zero-emission buses are built using indigenous technology, equipped with the latest features, and powered by advanced battery systems.

They aim to offer a safe, comfortable, and convenient intra-city commuting experience in Srinagar. The electric bus fleet was inaugurated by various dignitaries, including Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant General of Jammu & Kashmir.

These electric buses represent a significant step toward transforming public transport in Srinagar and contribute to the city's sustainable urban mobility initiatives.
