Sushil Sharma Recommended for Chairman and MD Post in SJVN by PESB

Currently serving as Director (Projects) at SJVN, Sharma's recommendation follows a rigorous selection process conducted by PESB, which assessed nine candidates from diverse sectors.

Sushil Sharma has been proposed for the position of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of SJVN by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB). 

Currently serving as Director (Projects) at SJVN, Sharma's recommendation follows a rigorous selection process conducted by PESB, which assessed nine candidates from diverse sectors, including two from SJVN, two from Indian Railways, and one each from NHPC Limited, BSNL, Power Grid, GAIL (India) Limited, and Patel Engineering Ltd. The decision was made during an interview held on April 8, 2024.

Having served as Director (Projects) since August 1, 2020, Sushil Sharma has played a pivotal role in several major projects, including the 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station, 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh, and the 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Power Station in Uttarakhand. His contributions to the successful design, construction, and commissioning of these power stations have been widely acknowledged.

With over 30 years of experience in the hydropower sector, Sushil Sharma, an alumnus of Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. Beginning his career in the H.P. State Technical Education Service in 1990, Sharma joined SJVN in January 1994 as an assistant engineer. Over the years, he has held various positions within the organization, showcasing impeccable leadership qualities and steadily ascending to roles of greater responsibility.
