Sunpure has signed a pact with ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC, an EPC company in Egypt, to supply revolutionary PV intelligent cleaning robots for a 348MW solar project in the Saad area of KSA.
This project signifies the first alliance with Elsewedy, moving further augmentation into the international market. Sunpure has so far signed contracts for six solar projects in Saudi Arabia totaling more than 4GW in capacity.
The plant is part of the Kingdom's National Renewable Energy Program (NREP) and is scheduled for commissioning in 2024. Once finished, the average annual power generation capacity is estimated to be around 876 million kWh, crucially reducing carbon emissions by over 500,000 tons annually.
Sunpure has a presence in over 13 countries and installed 8000 GW of RE capacity.
Elsewedy Electric operates in five business areas, comprising, Wires, Cables & Accessories, Electrical Products, Engineering and Construction, Digital Solutions, and Infrastructure Investments. With a strong presence in 19 different countries, 31 production facilities spread across African and Asian countries including Egypt, Algeria, KSA, Qatar, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Tanzania.
Earlier, Elsewedy Electric joined forces with EDF (Electricité de France) to develop, finance, build and operate two solar PV power plants in Benban and Kom Ombo, Aswan Province.
