The Newstead Energy Project in regional Victoria is steadily progressing towards operational status as its 3 MW solar farm reaches mechanical completion.

Comprising 4,320 solar panels spread across a 6.2-hectare site, located about 3 kilometers from Newstead, the project is poised to revolutionize the region's energy landscape. In addition to the expansive solar array, the project will also feature a 5 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), including a 'Victorian-first' DC-coupled system, according to Flow Power.

Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd., a key player in the project expressed pride stating, "In line with our quest to bring clean power for all, this project features our cutting-edge integrated PV inverter and liquid-cooled BESS in DC coupled solution. By closely regulating and monitoring system components, it plays an integral role in maximizing the efficiency and reliability of the entire system."

Once operational, the PV power plant is expected to generate enough clean energy to power up to 1,600 homes, significantly exceeding Newstead's current energy requirements.

With the completion of the solar farm's mechanical phase, the Newstead Energy Project moves closer to its goal of providing clean, renewable energy to homes and businesses in the region.
