Sungrow will supply equipment including battery storage to eight solar microgrid projects in Lebanon.
Sungrow has signed agreements with local partners for what will be the first utility-scale microgrids to be built in the Middle Eastern country.
The projects add up to 12.4MW of PV production capacity and 14MW of battery energy storage system (BESS) technology.
Sungrow will facilitate both PV inverters and BESS, with the company’s consolidated energy storage solutions comprising a power conversion system (PCS) along with the batteries.
Zaid Al-Helo, Sungrow’s manager for the Levant region and Yemen mentioned that projects including the microgrids are providing indigenous businesses and amenities to secure energy independence and decarbonise their operations.
The solar and batteries will imply the procurers of the microgrids can minimise their extraction of power from the grid at peak times, whereas also safeguarding them from the worst effects of disturbances to the grid and mitigating the electricity supply crisis.
Sungrow has established in 1997. The company is in the research and development of solar inverters, with a range of product portfolio offering PV inverter solutions and energy storage systems for utility-scale, commercial & industrial, and residential applications, along with floating PV plant solutions.
