Sunflow South, the Serbian subsidiary of the American firm Sunflow Energy Corporation, has signed an agreement to build a solar power plant with a capacity of 3MW in the southern city of Vranje, Serbia.
In the drive to augment the RE sector in Serbia, Sunflow South’s investment targets to majorly contribute to the Serbian's energy mix.
Sunflow Energy Corporation, an energy company based in the U.S., wholly owns the Serbian subsidiary, Sunflow South.
The solar power plant is anticipated to bolster Serbia’s renewable energy potential and contribute to Serbia’s efforts to minimise its carbon footprint.
The plant’s produced electricity will be sold, facilitating an additional income stream to the city of Vranje.
The Vranje local government declared that a yearly compensation arrangement has been agreed upon with the investor.
Under this agreement, the city will get an amount equal to 1 percent of the gross revenue from the sale of the solar plant’s electricity. This revenue-sharing model not only assists the local economy but also boosts further investments in green energy infrastructure in the area.
