Sterlite Power expressed it has bagged the transmission project for the evacuation of power from renewable energy areas in Rajasthan.

The company has procured the letter of intent (LoI) from PFC Consulting Limited, an entirely owned subdivision of Power Finance Corporation, to construct the project on a build, own, operate, and transfer basis, for a time span of 35 years.

As per the company statement, the project was tender through a tariff-based competitive tendering process.

Sterlite Power has bagged the transmission project for the evacuation of power from renewable energy regions in Fatehgarh (9.1 GW), Bhadla (8 GW) and Ramgarh (2.9 GW) areas in Rajasthan.

The whole transmission system becomes a crucial part of the roadmap issued by the Ministry of Power in 2022 for accommodating above 500 GW RE potential to the national grid by the year 2030.

The project will include the construction of a 350km, 765kV transmission corridor from Fatehgarh III to Beawar in Rajasthan.

This is the second green energy project for the organization and its first introduced in the state of Rajasthan.

Sterlite Power commenced its first green energy project named as Lakadia -Vadodara power transmission project in Gujarat. The project stretched 300 km long project from the beginning and is playing a significant role in delivering 5,000MW from the renewable energy-prosperous state of Gujarat to India’s national grid.
