Sterlite Power has discovered two revolutionary technologies – 96 Fibre OPGW and ACCC ULS Brahmaputra High-Performance Conductor, to serve reliable, guarded, and highly systematic power transmission solutions at the 15th edition of ELECRAMA 2023. These solutions will provide increased digitization of the transmission sector while minimizing transmission losses.

The 96 Fibre Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) – It is a special higher fibre count OPGW (optical ground wire) progressed to bolster India’s power transmission infrastructure that requires it to be safe and sustainable to handle the rising electricity demand and data traffic.

The benefits such as longitudinal bandwidth and swifter data transfer rates, a high fibre reckon OPGW technology is specifically significant for India which has appeared as the world’s biggest and fastest-developing market for digital technologies and services.

Developed for the first time in India, this OPGW design is suitable for putting on towers of 132/220kV and 400kV lines voltage and will deliver as an economical plus productive solution, providing faster and more reliable communication, while expanding energy access to deprived areas.

The ACCC ULS Brahmaputra High-Performance Conductor (HPC) is an unprecedented high-performance conductor that has been developed to overcome the limitations and challenges associated with the critical crossing of River Brahmaputra – one of the longest rivers in India. Globally, this is a first-of-its-kind conductor that combines special earth wire and OPGW. The distinctive design blends aluminium alloy with complex elements with ultra-low sag, which refines the efficiency, capacity, reliability, and resiliency of the pivotal river crossing span.

Discussing the launch, Manish Agarwal, Director & CEO, India Transmission, Sterlite Power said, "India’s largest gathering for the power and electrical industry, ELECRAMA provides us the perfect platform to showcase our innovative solutions and capabilities that are helping transform India's transmission industry and improve the overall reliability and efficiency of India’s national grid. We continue to stay committed to nation-building and improve access to electricity in remote and underserved areas of the country.”

A ground-breaking in integrated power transmission solutions, Sterlite Power has a profile of 30 projects spreading throughout two nations, viz., India and Brazil. Additionally, carrying reliable power to the country, the organization has been an accurate precursor of sustainable development.
