Sterling and Wilson Wins Bid for 1200 MW NTPC REL Solar PV Project Worth INR 2100 Crore

The clean energy company has emerged as the lowest bidder for the balance of system (BOS) package that consists of four blocks of 300 MW each in NTPC Renewable Energy’s proposed project located at Khavda RE Power Park in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat.

Mumbai-based Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd (SWRE) has won the bid for a renewable energy project worth INR 2,100 crore.

The clean energy company has emerged as the lowest bidder for the balance of system (BOS) package that consists of four blocks of 300 MW each in the proposed 1200 MW solar PV project of NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. Located at Khavda RE Power Park in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat, the project has the aggregate capacity of 1500 MW. 

If all goes as anticipated, the project will provide electricity to various households as well as industries in the state which will contribute to Gujarat’s ambitious renewable energy goals. 

Gujarat was able to meet its renewable energy targets for 2022 in September last year. Recently, Modhera in the state’s Mehsana district was declared India’s first 24x7 solar-powered village.

Meanwhile, the bid value of INR 2100 crore includes operation and maintenance (O&M) for three years. With a presence in 25 countries, Sterling & Wilson offers EPC services for utility-scale solar, floating solar, and hybrid and energy storage solutions and manages an operations and maintenance portfolio of around 6 GW.
