SJVN to Deliver 500 MW of Solar Power to PSPCL from Bikaner Solar Power Project

SJVN Limited declared that a Power Usage Agreement (PUA) has been inked between SJVN and Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) for the delivery of 500 MW of solar power.

The solar power will be originated from SJVN’s ongoing 1000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project in Rajasthan.

SJVN Limited’s Chairman and Managing Director, Nand Lal Sharma has explained that the Bikaner Solar Power Project is a part of the CPSU Scheme and is being made under the domestic content need mode.

SJVN bagged the project’s EPC contract, worth INR 5,491 crores, to Tata Power Solar Systems Limited, forming India’s greatest single EPC contract.

The project is being implemented by SJVN’s subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), and is anticipated to be commenced by March 2024.

Upon completion, the Bikaner Solar Power Project will produce 2455 million units in its initial year and an overall of 56838 million units over the tenure of 25 years.

The power will be used by government entities, either directly or through the medium of DISCOMS.
