SJVN Limited has reached a significant milestone by signing a Power Usage Agreement (PUA) with Jammu & Kashmir Power Corporation Limited (JKPCL) through its subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL).
The agreement entails the supply of 300 MW of solar power from the under-construction 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project in Rajasthan.
Geeta Kapur, Chairperson and Managing Director of SJVN, revealed that the Bikaner Solar Power Project, undertaken by SJVN through SGEL under the CPSU Scheme of IREDA, represents a substantial investment of INR 5,491 crores.
Developed under the Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) mode, the project is on track for commissioning by July 2024. The power generated will cater to government entities, either directly or through discoms, contributing to the region's energy needs.
With a steadfast commitment to growth, SJVN is actively working towards its shared vision of achieving a capacity of 25,000 MW by 2030 and 50,000 MW by 2040. This vision is aligned with the Government of India's goal of generating 50 percent of energy from non-fossil-fuel-based resources by 2030.
