SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL) has procured Letters of Award (LoAs) from Assam Power Development Corporation (APDCL) for three solar power projects with a cumulative capacity 320 MW.
The power purchase agreement (PPA) will be inked between APDCL and SGEL for 25 years. The tentative development cost is approximately INR 1,900 crore.
SGEL had participated in three separate tariff-based competitive bidding tenders of APDCL viz., 50 MW, 70 MW and 200 MW.
The 50 MW and 70 MW projects are under the solar park category and have been assigned at a tariff of INR 3.92/Unit and the 200 MW is to be constructed anywhere in Assam and has been allotted at a tariff of INR 3.90/Unit.
The projects will be commissioned within 18 months from the date of signing of the PPA, with commissioning expected by March 2025.
These three projects will be developed on a build, own and operate (BOO) basis and are anticipated to produce a cumulative 628 MUs in the initial year.
Moreover, the cumulative energy generation for a tenure of 25 years would be about 14,591 MUs.
The implementation of these projects is anticipated to offset 7.14 lakh tonnes of carbon emissions and would contribute to the government’s target of reduction in carbon emissions.
