Siemens Gamesa Obtains Order for 166 MW Wind Project from ArcelorMittal

Siemens Gamesa has inked a supply agreement with steel company ArcelorMittal’s subsidiary in India to deliver and distribute 46 wind turbines for a 166MW project in Andhra Pradesh.
The clean electricity generated by the SG 3.6-145 turbines will be utilised by one of its steel plants, giving a much-required uplift to the industry’s decarbonization efforts in the nation.
The wind project will become part of a 989MW wind-solar hybrid renewable energy project by Arcelor Mittal Green Energy Private Limited (AMGEPL) in the Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh.

The supply of wind turbines to this project in Kurnool District will start in the Q2 of 2023 and the turbines will be manufactured at Siemens Gamesa’s plants in India.

Siemens Gamesa is also a part of the Steel Zero initiative, which has a clear commitment towards citing rising amounts of green steel liable way to going forward.
