Siemens Energy and Dragdos Offshore Signed 7 Billion Euro Deal with German-Dutch Transmission for Offshore Wind Farm Projects

Siemens Energy and Spain’s Dragados Offshore inked a worth of 7-billion-euro pact to connect offshore wind farms in the North Sea to the German power grid.
Siemens and Dragados have inked a framework agreement with the German-Dutch transmission system operator TenneT to serve and deliver high-voltage direct current transmission technology for three power grid connections.
The agreement ascertains that an overall of 6 gigawatts (GW) of offshore wind power can be carried onshore.
The three grid connections will carry and transmit electricity from wind farms in the German North Sea to grid connection points in northern parts of the country. Each systems carries a transmission potential of two gigawatts.
The North Sea must be evolved as the bloc’s green power plant, and rapidly liked to onshore power grids so that the attainment of the European goal of an independent renewable energy supply.
Siemens Energy AG is an energy company established as the by-product of the former Gas and Power division of Siemens Group and consists a 97.8% share of Siemens Gamesa. The company has headquarter located in Germany.
Dragados Offshore was founded in 1972 and is based in Spain. The company is an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) dealer for the oil, gas, and other energy-related industries.
