Shakti Pumps Wins INR 23.91 Crore MEDA Order for 877 Solar Water Pumps

Shakti Pumps (India) Ltd. has been awarded a significant contract by the Maharashtra Energy Department Agency (MEDA) for the supply, installation, and commissioning of 877 Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS) across Maharashtra.
This project falls under Component-B of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme, which aims to promote solar-powered irrigation and reduce farmers' dependence on conventional electricity and diesel-based pumps.
The total value of the work order is approximately INR 23.91 crore, inclusive of GST. Under the contract, Shakti Pumps will be responsible for the design, manufacturing, supply, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of these solar water pumps. The project is expected to be completed within 120 days from the date of the work order issuance.
MEDA, a government agency focused on promoting renewable energy initiatives in Maharashtra, has awarded this order as part of its efforts to expand solar energy adoption in the agricultural sector. The contract represents a key step in the implementation of the PM-KUSUM scheme, which supports farmers by providing sustainable energy solutions for irrigation.
