Sarda Energy and Minerals Ltd. (SEML) has announced that it has awarded a contract worth INR 150 crore to Gensol Engineering Ltd for the installation of a 50 MW DC solar power plant in Chhattisgarh.

This initiative is part of SEML's commitment to fulfilling its captive energy requirements through renewable sources.

The comprehensive contract includes design engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the solar power plant, indicating a holistic approach towards green energy integration.

The anticipated completion timeframe for the project is set at 6-9 months from the signing of the letter of intent (LoI), showcasing the company's dedication to a swift and efficient transition to renewable energy.

This announcement follows SEML's recent collaboration with Gensol Engineering for a 33 MW AC solar power project in Chhattisgarh, demonstrating a strategic partnership between the two companies.

The 33 MW project is specifically tailored for captive use at Sarda Energy's Kharora plant in the state. The scope of this previous contract encompasses design, engineering, procurement, and construction, along with the commissioning of the solar power facility, with a projected completion period of six months.
