The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has floated a Request for Selection (RfS) for selecting RE power developers for supply of 500 MW firm and dispatchable power from ISTS connected renewable energy power projects in India under tariff-based competitive bidding (FDRE - I).
According to the notification issued by SECI, the scope of work includes the power supply on ‘demand-following basis’ to Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. The notification further stated that the tender would be issued shortly, under the standard bidding guidelines for tariff-based competitive bidding process for power procurement from grid connected renewable energy power projects with energy storage systems issued by the government.
Recently, SECI issued amendments to its tender for establishing 10 MW of solar power projects at Bagru in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
In the present outlook of the renewable energy industry, SECI has a major role to play in the sector’s development. The company is one of the nodal agencies for implementation of a number of schemes of MNRE.
